General Conditions
Reservation and Confirmation
Reservations should be made in advance through Air Koryo booking offices in Pyongyang and abroad, or authorized travel agents in foreign countries.
For the transportation of incapacitated passengers, expectant mothers and unaccompanied children, necessary formalities have to be completed and the airlines consent has to be secured ahead of time.
Passengers should reconfirm their reservations 72 hours prior to the departure to buy tickets or have confirmation stickers on them.
Noncompliance with this notice may result in automatic cancellation of the seats.
On-Line Booking
In case of online booking through the Air Koryo website-www.airkoryo.com.kp, passengers can directly buy e-ticket without confirmation of reservation.
Ticket and Validity
The ticket is not transferable to the others and the ticket which is altered may not be honored.
The ticket is valid for one year from the date of issue unless there is the restriction on the validity of the ticket.
Children / Infant Fares
An infant under 2 years of age accompanied by an adult shall pay 10% of the applicable adult fare and cannot occupy individual seat.
Children from 2 under 12, who are paying 75% of the adult fare, are entitled to individual seats.
Check-in Time
Passengers should arrive at the airport not later than 90minutes before the flight and complete all departure formalities.
Air Koryo closes check-in counter 30 minutes before the scheduled departure time of the flight.
If passengers fail to arrive in time and board, Air Koryo assumes no responsibility for them.
Carry-on Baggage
Carry-on baggage means those articles which are suitable to be carried in the passenger cabin, such as a portable computer or attache’ case.
It should be suitable for placing in the closed overhead rack or under the passenger’s seat provided that the total sum of its three dimensions does not exceed 115cm (45inchs).
Each passenger may carry one piece of those articles mentioned above.
Baggage Liability
Baggage liability means the limit of responsibility of the airlines carrying passengers and their baggage in respect to any loss, delay of, or damage to the checked baggage.
The liability of Air Koryo is limited to USD20 per kg of checked baggage.
Air Koryo assumes no liability for unchecked baggage, fragile or perishable articles.
Baggage damage or loss should be reported immediately to Air Koryo on your arrival at the airport.
Liability for loss, delay of, or damage to baggage is limited unless a higher value is declared in advance and additional charges are paid.
Baggage Allowance
The free baggage allowances are as follows:
Business Class 30kg(66lbs)
Economy Class 23kg(51lbs)
In excess of such allowances the excess baggage charges shall be paid.
Restricted / Dangerous Articles
For safety reasons, dangerous articles as defined in the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations, such as those listed here below shall not be carried within, or as part of passengers’ baggage;
- Brief cases and attache’ cases with installed alarm devices
- Compressed gases (flammable, non-flammable and poisonous) such as camping gas
- Corrosives (such as acids, alkalis and wet cell batteries)
- Etiologic agents
- Explosives, munitions, fireworks and flares
- Flammable liquids and solids such as lighter or heating fuels, matches and articles which are easily ignited
- Oxidizing materials (such as bleaching powder and peroxides)
- Poisonous materials
- Radioactive materials
- Other restricted articles (such as mercury, magnetized materials, offensive or irritating materials)
Meal Service
Complimentary meals and beverages are served on international flights at appropriate meal times. Vegetarian and other special food requests will be catered for if arrangements are made at the time of booking.
Smoking
Smoking is prohibited on all Air Koryo flights.
